speaking of which meand the aforementioned "guy" had a major... eh... bickering match over which is better. he insisted halo 3 is better in every way despite my comments that he hasn't actually played either (yes he still doesn't have halo)

If I'd never played Halo before I'm sure I'd have loved it. It just felt a little dated (yes online too).

After playing games like GOW and GRAW 2 online (and R6 Vegas and Bioshock offline) for so long it felt like going back in time.

I think the hype has significantly limited the Halo series because the dovelopers are so **** scared to change anything in case of critisism.

The first one is still the best (offline) purely because the dovelopers had no (not compared to the others anyway) fear of precendent, or fanboy backlash.

I think it's made for a pretty sterile trilogy really. Still fun both off and online (though I wouldnt have played it if my little brother didnt buy it) but not "game of the decade" (let alone game of the year) as I've been hearing.

Finished it in around 7 hours on heroic (two 3 or 4 hour night time sessions). No real reason to play through again, might be fun in co-op though, doubt it could beat Gears for co-op though.

I'd give it a good 7.5/10

Now I can get back to Super Paper Mario lol!!

Now Mass Effect is a game that looks like it deserves it's hype!

ps. the Scarab bits were cool, reminded me of the old n64 star wars games.

pps. cant wait for PRIME 3!!!

No not THE as there will always be an other game that is just as anticipated or even more so. It's definately up there as one of the most aticipated games ever though.
