Yeh rightfully so......

Nintendo Everything – Our second language is Nintendo++ » Blog Archive » Capcom: Fewer, but larger Wii games to be released this year

I wonder is he/she talking about Monster hunter 3 and Tatsunoko vs. Capcom? Or Unannounced titles?

What did they expect. Nobody wanted a sequal to Umbrella Chronicles.

Surely "gamer games" will be the kind that get critical acclaim? Most gamers will read or see a review of a game before buying it and the reviews weren't favourable for the newest Resident Evil game. Why did they expect us to buy it?

Most of the reviews for The Darkside Chronicles were favorable unless scores in the region of 80 are classed as bad now

Hmm, average score on Metacritic is 75. Only review I saw was Gamespot (60). I supposed it did okay critically but it's hardly in the area of AAA is it?

Hmm, companies complaining when ****, rehashed games sell badly. Pull the finger out Capcom et al; people still buy Wii games, even if they're all available online. I doubt anyone even bothered to download Darkside Chronicles.

Maturity has nothing to do with it, there is a market for 'adult' games on the Wii, but adults who play the Wii want adult games, not games they've already played or have better versions available on other platforms.

Seems Ubisoft are following suit:

Quote:
Capcom and Sega seem to be scaling back their Wii efforts, and now it would appear that Ubisoft is reexamining its approach to Nintendo platforms as well. The French publisher announced a downward revision to its fiscal outlook today, partially blaming the DS market and slow sales of several non-casual Wii titles. The company is now refocusing its attention on platforms that it feels will experience more growth, and those platforms it believes are the Xbox 360 and PS3. It seems that Ubisoft and other third parties are catching up with the trend that core gamers are actually driving the market.

"The fiscal year 2010-11 line-up will be more focused on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, the consoles which are expected to experience sustained sales growth in games for gamers in calendar 2010," Ubisoft noted.
