Wiffy Game Reviews

So i was thinking, how about starting a thread where Wiffians could post there own reviews of, well, whatever game took there fancy?

It could be useful, considering how much new stuff there will be soon.

I'd like to know what you guys think of the idea before i started such a thread.

Any thoughts?

Ya thats a good idea. Even short reviews would be very helpful to everyone!

For just Nintendo systems or every system? A thread for every system would be much more useful and busier imho, and I'd be able to contribute more to it (yes, it's all about my contributions ).

Nice idea for a thread, I always find well written (ie not written by a fanboy) reader reviews very helpful in giving second opinions.

It could add a lot of value to wiffy.

i agree though i know little of reviewing other than wether i liked it and if it was worth buying i would try to contribute

You could do any system you want I guess. I'd say most would be ds/Wii, what with this being a ninty site, but i'd personally say any type would be good.

We could do old games too, the reviews would still be useful.

I might try to do some when I have a little more time (i've got college work and a rugby match to watch this afternoon )

And yes, i did see this on Boards.ie first, so it's not really my idea

I'm all for this aspect of the site but I'm unsure whether or not it will have longevity. People may only submit 1 or 2 reviews and ten they will let this aspect die. We just need people to sort of commit themselves to it.

I don't think longevity should be really used an argument - if it doesn't last, it doesn't last, but I think would be worth a try at the very least. I'd have no problem contributing, as long as we're talking about sub 500 word reviews rather than essays (which would be boring to read anyway); I too have final year college work to attend to

I'd have no doubt that the majority of reviews would be nintendo related, but it would nice to get reviews of other major games - is Gears of War worth all the hype for example?

Hi guys, good idea and it's something I've had in the background for a while. I'm debating which method to implement this. Either a separate 'review' system or just a forum where you can post game reviews.

The plan is to have something available before 8th December.

What do you mean 'review' system? Do you mean like a format or layout?

Also how d'you feel about reviewing games from non nintendo systems?
